Our Ant Control & Removal Service
Effectively eliminating an ant issue isn’t as simple as spraying some pesticide on the ants you can see and calling it a day. Ants are eusocial, meaning they generally have large, organized colonies that are effectively a superorganism, collectively working together to support the colony. What this means for us is that the ants you’re seeing inside your home may only represent 1/1000th of the total number of the colony, and the entire colony needs to be eliminated to ensure that the problem does not continue or worsen. The good news is that Wildout Animal & Pest Removal can help. Our team is trained not just to eliminate the ants, but also prevent them from coming back to reinfest.
Our Unique Approach To Ant Control & Removal Service
Ants usually enter a home looking for water and food, that’s why most ant problems occur in the kitchen. They can find the tiniest of openings, and once they get inside and find a food or water source they’ll leave a pheromone trail for other ants to follow. This is why a complete plan involves not just the interior, but the exterior as well, most ant control services consist of 4 steps:
1. ANT INSPECTION
Any good pest control program is going to start with a thorough inspection and ants are no different. We’ll inspect not just the areas you’re currently having ant activity but also the windows, doors, and carpet edges in the interior of the home. On the exterior, we’ll check the foundation as well as trees and vegetation that might be enabling access to the home. Once the inspection is complete we can devise a plan tailored to solve your ant problem.
2. INITIAL ANT TREATMENT
The initial ant treatment will usually involve both interior and exterior treatment. On the interior we’ll use professional baits placed in high activity areas. These baits are designed to be fed on and brought back to the colony so the entire nest is eliminated. On the exterior we’ll apply non-repellent insecticide around the perimeter foundation and entry points of the home.
3. EXTERIOR REPAIRS
Most entry points that ants use can be repaired by caulking and sealing, but if you don’t know what you’re looking for those gaps can be easy to miss. Our team is very experienced with this type of repair and can seal those cracks and crevices to help prevent ants from entering the home.
4. ONGOING ANT TREATMENT
Sometimes all the entry points that ants are using can’t be sealed, whether it’s because of the type of gap or location. In those cases, regular treatment of the property is required to ensure that the ants are unable to get back into the home to cause a new infestation.
